Chinese officials threw cold water on the optimism about Donald Trumps first phase trade agreement, as they said to be willing to discuss more before signing a deal. We could already feel that the Chinese were not fully satisfied with their Washington visit, unlike Donald Trump.

Pound bounced higher as the Telegraph pointed at a possible solution on Ireland but the main question, to us, is will Johnson ask for a delay.

The EURUSD didin't react to the Catalan protests but it could to a weak ZEW read in Germany today.
