Dry Whey - West

     Dry Whey - Western U.S.

     Report 46 - Released on November 14, 2019

In the West, except for a $.0025 drop at the bottom of the range, f.o.b. prices for dry whey
are stable anywhere else when compared to last week's data. Although CME prices have
improved a bit this week, generally, the dry whey market continues to be weak. The industry
is hopeful that market conditions will improve considering positive trade talks. Meanwhile,
for some preferred brands of dry whey, processors have been able to sustain higher prices
despite the current turmoil in the dry whey market. Dry whey production remains lively,
driven by stronger milk yield and some processors' shifts from higher whey protein
concentrates production. Dry whey sales are flat, whereas inventories are mixed.
